The UN said severe drought and delayed rains in the Horn of Africa has caused a humanitarian disaster.
In Kenya alone, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said some 3.5 million people are affected by severe food insecurity and acute malnutrition.
OCHA Chief Martin Griffiths visited the village of Lomoputh in northern Kenya in a bid to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis brought about by the climate-induced drought.
"Lomoputh deserves our attention," Griffiths said, as he and other representatives met with the villagers.
