TUESDAY 10 PM TROPICAL UPDATE: HURRICANE SALLY STALLS, EXPECTED TO MAKE LANDFALL WEDNESDAY
The almost stationary Hurricane Sally remains a Category 1 storm with a landfall along the Alabama coast expected early Wednesday.
As of 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sally is still a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 85 mph. The storm is barely moving at 2 mph with the center located about 65 miles south of Mobile, Alabama.
Tropical storm warnings have been canceled for the New Orleans metro and Northshore, but but continue for lower Plaquemines and eastern St. Bernard.
Hurricane warnings continue from Pass Christian to the east into the Florida Panhandle.
Storm surge warnings are still in effect east of the mouth of the Mississippi River to Florida.
