CENTRAL KAROO STILL IN THE GRIP OF SEVEN YEAR DROUGHT
The Central Karoo region is still in the grips of a seven-year drought, despite recent good rains in the Western Cape.
The situation, however, looks slightly better in Beaufort West, one of the biggest towns in the region.
Two years ago, the main Gamka Dam was bone dry but now it stands at 26 percent capacity.
